Beginning Treatment at Villa Consano
Asking for help is rarely a single decision. It is usually a series of small ones, made over weeks or months, and the hardest of them is the first phone call. Our admissions team exists to make that call easier. There are no assessment forms to complete before you speak to someone. There is no pressure, and no judgement about how long it took you to get here.
Everything you tell us is confidential from the first moment of contact.
Who We Treat
Villa Consano provides specialist care for prescription medication dependency, trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, burnout, alcohol dependency, drug dependency, co-occurring mental health conditions, behavioural addictions, and dual diagnosis.
We treat adults seeking help for themselves, and we work just as often with families making enquiries on behalf of someone they love. Both conversations are welcome. Every client is placed on a treatment programme built around their own history and circumstances — never a fixed template.
How Admission Works
Admission at Villa Consano follows four clear stages, from your first conversation with our team through to your arrival at the house.
Each stage builds on the last, nothing is rushed, and nothing happens without you understanding what comes next.
Here’s what to expect at every step.
Step 1 — Your First Conversation
Reach us by phone, email or the enquiry form on this site. A member of the admissions team will listen to your situation, explain which of our programmes fit, set out costs plainly, and answer whatever you want to ask. Nothing is committed to at this stage.
Step 2 — Clinical Assessment
Our clinical team then builds a fuller picture: your history with substances or medication, any mental health considerations, current medical needs, what you want treatment to achieve, and the family or support network around you. This assessment is what makes a genuinely personalised programme possible.
Step 3 — Your Treatment Plan
From that assessment we design your programme — the therapeutic approach, clear goals and milestones, how and when your family will be involved, and the practical arrangements for your stay and travel.
Step 4 — Arrival
You are met on arrival and welcomed by the team. We complete the remaining paperwork quickly, introduce you to the counsellor who will be with you throughout your stay, show you the house and grounds, and begin settling you into the community you'll be part of
Programme Length
Our residential programme runs for a minimum of 30 days, with 8–12 weeks recommended for the strongest outcomes. Longer stays give the clinical work time to hold, and the difference in sustained recovery is considerable. Your assessment will include an honest recommendation, and we will always tell you if we think a shorter stay is unlikely to serve you.
Costs and Payment
Villa Consano operates on a private-pay basis, with transparent pricing agreed before admission. There are no hidden charges and no unexpected additions during your stay.
If you hold international medical insurance, our admissions team can advise on how your policy may apply and what documentation your insurer is likely to require. We’ll be clear with you about what is and isn’t likely to be covered before you commit to anything.
Workplace-sponsored and corporate placements can also be arranged.
Travelling from Abroad
Most of our clients travel to us from Europe, and the practical side of that is something we handle rather than leave to you:
- Collection from Cape Town International Airport on arrival
- Guidance on visa requirements and travel arrangements
- Orientation to help you settle into a new country as well as a new programme
- Coordinated updates for family at home, across time zones
If you’re ready to take a first step, or simply want to understand your options, our team is available now.
